In Wrestling, India’s Mansi Ahlawat has clinched the bronze medal in the women’s 59kg category at the Seniors World Championships, in Tirana, Albania. Mansi defeated Laurence Beauregard of Canada, 5-NIL, in the bronze medal match last night. Risako Kinjo of Japan won the Gold, Tserenchimed Sukhee of Mongolia grabbed the Silver, while Elena Heike Brugger of Germany shared the Bronze with Mansi.
In the Men’s Freestyle 92 kg category, India’s Sandeep S Mann will take on Batyrbek Tsakulov of Slovakia in the Repechage round tonight. The match is scheduled to begin at 9 PM, IST.
Earlier in the women’s 65 kg category, India’s Manisha Bhanwala missed out in the repechage round yesterday. While, fellow grappler Bipasha lost to Anastasiya Alpyeyeva of Ukraine in the 72 kg qualification round.
