Manipur Police, security forces recover 203 illegal arms in massive hill district operation –

In a major crackdown on illegal arms hoarders, a team of Manipur Police and other security agencies conducted a massive search operation in the hill districts of Manipur from midnight of 3rd July till early this morning and recovered 203 illegal arms.
 
According to a press release issued this afternoon by the Office of DGP Manipur, acting on specific intelligence regarding the presence of a large cache of arms and ammunition, a joint team of Manipur Police, CAPFs, Army/AR conducted the operation in the interior and suspected area of Tengnoupal, Kangpokpi, Chandel and Churachandpur districts of the State. During the operation, 203 illegal arms along with ammunition, explosives and warlike stores were recovered by the team. The security forces also recovered a large amount of ammunition and explosives during the operation.
 
The report further said that the senior police officers are in close coordination with all security agencies to ensure that such operations continue in a sustained and focused manner to restore normalcy, maintain public order and ensure the safety and security of citizens and their properties.
