In a bid to give fuel to the Opposition unity to take on Modi in 2024 polls, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will Wednesday hold meetings with Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal separately in the national capital.
Banerjee will meet Gandhi at 4:30 pm and Kejriwal at 6 pm.
Prior to that, the Chief Minister will meet her Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs at 1 pm.
The meetings on the third day of her Delhi trip comes after Banerjee met three senior Congress leaders Tuesday.
The TMC supremo met former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath, senior Rajya Sabha MPs Anand Sharma and Abhishek Manu Singhvi separately.
Banerjee’s hobnobbing with the Congress leaders is noticeable when both the parties are working together in the ongoing monsoon session of Parliament.
On a number of issues, from snooping to COVID-19 management, the Congress and TMC are jointly attempting to corner the government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Very interesting, Kamal Nath after meeting Banerjee said Tuesday, “She (Mamata Banerjee) has the power to defeat the BJP.”
Banerjee Tuesday also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed various issues including COVID-19 situation, vaccines and renaming of her state West Bengal.
She is also expected to meet President Ram Nath Kovind.
