In a harrowing incident, a bus carrying students and teachers narrowly avoided a catastrophic tragedy when it caught fire on Sunday. The vehicle, engulfed in flames while in motion, left 11 passengers injured, including several students. Among them, two sustained critical injuries and were rushed for advanced medical treatment.

The unfortunate incident occurred at Jagatpur Choumuhani in Mohanpur as the group was returning from a picnic. The bus, belonging to the Vivekananda Study Centre, was en route to Champaknagar from Bashgram when disaster struck. Eyewitnesses reported that the fire spread rapidly, leaving passengers scrambling to escape.

Firefighters arrived promptly at the scene and worked tirelessly to rescue the injured. All affected individuals were immediately transported to Mohanpur Hospital for emergency care. Following initial treatment, the two critically injured were referred to GB Hospital for specialized medical attention.

According to preliminary investigations, the fire may have been triggered by a generator being used inside the bus. Authorities are probing whether negligence or improper safety measures contributed to the incident.

The bus was completely destroyed in the blaze, leaving behind charred remains as a stark reminder of the danger. Local residents and passersby also assisted in the rescue efforts, highlighting a community’s spirit in the face of adversity.

The incident has sparked discussions on the need for stricter safety protocols for vehicles, particularly those carrying large groups. Authorities have assured a thorough investigation to prevent such occurrences in the future.
