Sharadiya Navratri festival commenced today with the traditional ‘Ghatasthapana’ at the Shree Tuljabhavani Mata Temple in Tuljapur in Dharashiv District, one of Maharashtra’s revered Shaktipeeths dedicated to Kulaswamini Devi. The festivities began with a grand procession, where the sacred ‘Ghata’ was carried from Kallolatirtha to the rhythmic beats of sambal and chants of “Ai Raja Udo Udo.”
Throughout this nine-day festival, the goddess is adorned with various ornaments during the ‘Mahapuja’, accompanied by several religious ceremonies, including ‘Chabina’, ‘Ashtami Hom-Havan’, and ‘Navami Poornahuti’. Devotees from Maharashtra and neighbouring states like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Telangana have gathered in large numbers to seek the goddess’s blessings during this auspicious occasion.
