Maharashtra has received an advance instalment of 6,418 crore rupees from the Central government as part of tax devolution ahead of the festive season. Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar said the funds will help the state accelerate capital expenditure and provide adequate funding for welfare and development schemes. The Centre on Wednesday said it has released an additional 1,01,603 crore rupees to all states, over and above the normal monthly devolution of 81,735 crore rupees due on 10th October.
