Must Read

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has reaffirmed the state’s zero-tolerance policy towards narcotics, announcing that a bill allowing the application of MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act) against drug traffickers will be introduced in the current legislative session.

Responding to a calling attention motion raised by MLA Bhai Jagtap in the Legislative Council, Mr. Fadnavis said dedicated anti-narcotics units are being set up at every police station, with recruitment and training already underway.

He informed that over 2,000 suspicious kiosks and stalls around schools and colleges in Mumbai have been removed. He noted the rise in synthetic drug production and said closed chemical factories are being inspected to ensure illegal activity hasn’t resumed.

Highlighting the use of dark net and social media platforms like Instagram for drug sales, the Chief Minister said the cyber department has launched special operations, dismantled illegal online markets, and arrested those involved
