Must Read

In chess, Norwegian grandmaster and world number 1, Magnus Carlsen, has won his seventh Norway Chess tournament 2025 title in Stavanger. The five-time World Champion secured the win after a dramatic final round where American Grandmaster Fabiano Caruana defeated Indian chess star D. Gukesh to grab three points.

Carlsen ended the tournament with 16 points after managing a draw from a tough position against another Indian player, Arjun Erigaisi. Caruana finished second with 15.5 points, while Gukesh took third place with 14.5 points, the same as in the 2023 edition. Arjun Erigaisi came in fifth out of six players, finishing behind Hikaru Nakamura from the USA but ahead of China’s Wei Yi, who placed last. In the Women’s event, Anna Muzychuk from Ukraine won the title. China’s Lei Tingjie came second, and India’s Koneru Humpy finished third.
