Must Read

The Madhya Pradesh government has approved the ‘Rahveer’ scheme, in line with Centre’s initiative to promote road safety and timely assistance during accidents.

Under the scheme, any person who takes a road accident victim to a primary health center will be rewarded 25,000 rupees by the state government.

The decision follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call during his Mann Ki Baat program, where he expressed concern over the rising number of road accidents and stressed the importance of quick medical intervention.

Akashvani correspondent reports, the state cabinet led by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has recently approved the Rahveer Yojana. The Chief Minister said that this scheme will promote a humanitarian approach.

The aim of the Rahveer Yojana is to ensure quick assistance to the injured in road accidents so that their lives can be saved with timely treatment.

This scheme honours the Rahveers who help the injured in road accidents and encourages awareness towards road safety.

Madhya Pradesh is among the top five states in the country in terms of road accidents. According to a report, from 2018 to 2022, 58 thousand 580 people have died in road accidents in Madhya Pradesh.
