In Chandigarh, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla today inaugurated an orientation programme organised in collaboration with the Parliamentary Democracy Research and Training Institute for the members of the Haryana Legislative Assembly.
Speaker of Haryana Legislative Assembly Harvinder Kalyan, Deputy Speaker Krishna Middha, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Speaker of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Satish Mahana, former Speaker of Haryana Legislative Assembly Gian Chand Gupta and Congress MLA Bharat Bhushan Batra were present on the occasion.
On the occasion, Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini called it a moment of pride and said that the legislature is a strong pillar of democracy.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also highlighted the importance of the parliamentary system in his address.
Congress MLA Bharat Bhushan Batra, Speaker of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Satish Mahana and Deuty Speaker of Haryana Legislative Assembly Krishna Middha also addressed the programme.
