Sai Computer Limited, residents of Kailashahar sub-division have taken to the streets to voice their grievances. The company’s electricity services have plunged into disarray, triggering widespread frustration among the community. The situation reached a boiling point on Friday, as a contingent of women from Ichabpur Village Panchayat marched to the city and encircled the Sai Computer Limited office.
Expressing their dismay, the agitated locals emphasized, “The entire Ichabpur village panchayat has been plunged into darkness for six consecutive days, impacting approximately 500 families.”
“The prolonged power outage has resulted in a scarcity of drinking water in the village. Despite numerous calls to Sai Computer Company and formal complaints lodged at their office, the electricity service remained disrupted,” they lamented.
Villagers voiced their exasperation over unanswered calls and the failure of the company’s employees to visit the affected area during this crisis. Moreover, the situation took a dire turn when a worker from Sai Computer Company allegedly behaved inappropriately with the women demonstrators, further stoking their ire.
The escalating tensions led to the blockade of Central Road, causing inconvenience to daily commuters and disrupting traffic flow. Intervention from the authorities became necessary, prompting the arrival of Additional Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Kailasahar, Naba Kumar Jamatia, at the scene.
Following a protracted discussion between the protesters and Sai Computer Company officials, an assurance was provided that electricity service would be reinstated in Ichabpur Gram Panchayat by day’s end.
Around 4:30 PM, the women of Ichabpur Gram Panchayat lifted their blockade, hopeful that their demands would finally be heeded. Nonetheless, tensions remain palpable, with the community closely monitoring the situation. Sai Computer Limited now faces mounting pressure to promptly address the electricity crisis and restore services to normalcy.
