Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta launches Ladakh Sports Policy 2025 in Leh

Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Kavinder Gupta launched the Ladakh Sports Policy 2025 during a function held yesterday in Leh. It is the first Sport Policy of Ladakh, since it was separated in 2019 as a Union Territory from the erstwhile from Jammu and Kashmir state and marked a significant milestone in strengthening the sports ecosystem of Ladakh. It aims to take Ladakh’s sports ecosystem to the next level through comprehensive roadmaps.
 
The Sports Policy provides a 4 per cent reservation in government jobs. For the outstanding sports persons, the policy has the provision for scholarships, awards and cash incentives. The Sports Policy mandate to establish Ladakh Sports Council, which will work with sports associations to Coordinate Infrastructure, Coaching, and financial support.
 
Addressing the occasion, Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta assured full commitment from the administration for the effective implementation of the Policy and called upon all the stakeholders to work together to nurture the talent.
