New Delhi/UNI: Delhi Lieutenant Governor has no power to nominate an Aldermen on its own in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) as local governance is a transfer(state government) subject, claimed Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in Delhi Assembly on Wednesday.

Sisodia showed a copy of the Constitution and said, LG has three powers-Police, Public Order and Land-to-do despite that he has been doing other works. He does not take action against land mafias who have encroached on DDA lands but interferes in files of teachers training in Finland.

Earlier, Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs started raising their voice over the issue of pollution in the Yamuna River, in fact, some of the members had carried bottles filled with Yamuna water and gave them to Speaker Ram Niwas Goel.

BJP members were demanding a discussion on pollution in the Yamuna river.

Four members of the BJP were ordered to be marshalled out from the House by the Speaker following a ruckus in the House over the Yamuna pollution issue.

AAP leader and MLA Saurabh Bharadwaj, in the House, said, How can the LG nominate 10 BJP people sitting on a constitutional post? This is completely unconstitutional. We, AAP and BJP, can nominate our own people as we are political parties but how can LG do it, he is an impartial person.
