Leaders Urge Respect for Rule of Law amid Political Tensions

Nepal’s Speaker of the House of Representatives, Devraj Ghimire, and National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal have said the rule of law and constitutionalism should not be bypassed while forming the government.
 
 
Issuing a joint press release today, they appealed to all to be committed for more progress, prosperous and strong democracy addressing the demands of the agitating side.
 
 
They shared that President Ramchandra Paudel has been making efforts to give an outlet to the country through constitutional process by keeping sovereignty, independence, geographical integrity, national unity at supreme.
 
 
Both of them said they are very saddened by the vandalism and arson on public property including Federal Parliament building, Singha Durbar, government offices, private houses, media houses, business complex as well as historical documents on September 9.
