In Maharashtra, today is the last day for filing nominations for 10 seats of biennial and by-elections of Maharashtra Legislature Council. Sunil Karjatkar, Madhavi Naik, Sanjay Bhende, Vivek Kolhe and Pramod Jathar filed nominations for biennial elections from BJP in presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai.
BJP leader and Former Congress MLC Pradnya Satav has also filed nomination for the seat vacated after she resigned from Maharashtra Legislative Council and Congress. Zeeshan Siddhique has filed nomination from NCP in presence of Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar. Shivena has re-nominated Deputy Chairman of Council Neelam Gorhe. Former Minister Bacchu Kadu today joined Shiv Sena in presence of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Kadu will also file a nomination from Shivsena today.
Shivsena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray has re-nominated opposition leader Ambadas Danve. Congress is unhappy with this decision and has announced that it will also field its candidate. Shivsena UBT leaders are now holding a meeting with Congress leaders in Mumbai to gather support for Danve.
