In Madhya Pradesh, the traditional Ger (गेर) will be taken out today on Rangpanchami in Indore, the cleanest city in the country. People from abroad also come to see and participate in the Ger. Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav will also participate in this colourful procession.
Akashvani Correspondent reports that the history of the Ger procession on Rangpanchami in Indore is about 200 years old and related to the Holkar dynasty. This year, lakhs of people will participate in the nearly three kilometres long Ger. Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava said that special arrangements for cleanliness have been made in view of the Ger.
