Union Minister Kiren Rijiju thanked Tripura voters after the NDA secured a sweeping victory in Village Committee elections, winning 4,320 of 4,594 seats across TTAADC areas, with Tipra Motha emerging as the largest NDA partner.
Union Parliamentary and Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday thanked the people of Tripura for reposing their faith in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) following the alliance’s sweeping performance in the recently concluded Village Committee elections.
Rijiju welcomed the election outcome in the areas under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), describing the results as a reaffirmation of public confidence in the NDA and its development-oriented approach.
Taking to social media platform X, the Union Minister said that Tripura had expressed its choice through the ballot and thanked the people of the state for their continued support.
“Tripura has spoken through the ballot. The Village Committee election results reaffirm the people’s trust in the NDA and its commitment to development. Thank you, Tripura, for your continued faith and support,” Rijiju said in his post.
The Union Minister also highlighted the performance of the NDA’s alliance partners in the tribal areas. According to the seat position shared by him, the Tipra Motha Party (TMP) emerged as the largest constituent of the alliance, followed by the BJP and the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT).
Of the total 4,320 seats secured by the NDA, TMP won 3,428 seats, while the BJP secured 859 seats and the IPFT won 33 seats, Rijiju said.
The results also showed a significant gap between the NDA and the opposition parties. The Communist Party of India (Marxist), or CPI-M, secured 87 seats, while the Congress won 14 seats, according to the figures shared by the Union Minister.
The Village Committee elections were held across the tribal areas of Tripura under the TTAADC. The polls were closely watched as an important indicator of political support in the state’s tribal-dominated regions.
According to officials, results for all 4,594 seats across 587 Village Committees under the TTAADC were declared early on Tuesday. The TMP alone secured 3,428 seats, accounting for 74.61 per cent of the total seats in the Village Committees.

The strong performance of TMP has reaffirmed its position as a dominant political force in Tripura’s tribal areas, while the combined performance of the BJP, TMP and IPFT has given the NDA a decisive majority across the Village Committee system.
The outcome is also expected to influence the political landscape in the state ahead of upcoming local-level electoral activities. For the NDA, the results have been presented as a strong endorsement of its political alliance and development agenda in Tripura.
