Kiran Gitte, secretary Urban Development, Tourism and Public Works Departments, has been appointed as the Chief Electoral Officer for the state. The position was lying vacant following transfer of Saumya Gupta to central government.
The 2005 batch IAS Gitte was given the charge of the CEO by Election Commission of India in consultation with the state government.
According to sources, Gitte will hand over all other charges that he was holding hitherto as soon as he takes over the CEO’s position.
Sh Gitte Kirankumar Dinkarrao will cease to hold and hand over forthwith the charge of all or any charges of work under the Government of Tripura which he may be holding before such assumption of office. He, however, will hold the position of Secretary to the election department.
