HS Prannoy also defeated Lee Cheuk Yiu of Hong Kong 22-20, 21-18 in his opening round clash.
However, in Women’s Singles, former world champion PV Sindhu lost to Thuy Linh Nguyen of Vietnam 22-20, 12-21, 15-21 in a round of 64 match.
