In what seems to be almost a repetition of Uttar Ramchandraghat, Khowai incident last year when a mentally deranged person Pradib Deb Roy in a fit of unknown rage killed five persons including a police officer and his relatives, one Bhupendra Debbarma who also was reportedly suffering from similar psychological problem ran amok at Parshurambari Bazaar in the same Khowai subdivision on Saturday. In a murderous fury that beset him Bhupendra took out a hammer and randomly hit five persons who just fell in front of him. Jalil Debbarma, Mangal Debbarma, Pankaj Debbarma, Rathindra Debbarma and Pandit Debbarma who were indiscriminately attacked by Bhupendra with hammer sustained severe injuries and were rushed to the hospital by the poice and Fire Service While four of the injured are being treated in Khowai District hospital, Pankaj Debbarma had to be sent to GB Hospital in critical condition.

Police could not detain Bhupendra till filing the report but a massive search was on. Police also alerted the people and asked them to be careful if they saw Bhupendra around.

Only recently one youth under the influence of drugs killed four persons in Kamalpur. He was arrested by the police.

On the other hand Pradip Deb Roy of Uttar Ramchandraghat, Khowai on November 26 last killed his two minor daughters — Aditi Deb Roy, Mandira Deb Roy, elder brother Amalesh Deb Roy, one police officer Inspector Satyajit Mallik, and a bystander Karnadhir Das.

Only recently the District and Sessions Court in Khowai district handed down death sentence for Pradip .
