Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today appeared before the Lokayukta Police in Mysuru, which is investigating the alleged MUDA scam over the allotment of housing sites by the Mysore Development authority to Siddaramaiah’s wife Parvathi.

The Lokayukta had registered a case on the charges of corruption, cheating and forgery against Siddaramaiah, his wife and others after a special court for the elected representatives had entrusted the investigation to them on September 25.

The investigation is regarding the allotment of 14 high value MUDA housing sites as compensation for the acquisition of 3.16 acres of low value land which was in wife’s name in Mysuru. The sites were returned by Siddaramaiah’s wife to MUDA after a case was filed by the Enforcement Directorate. Meanwhile the petitioner in the MUDA Case Snehamayi Krishna had moved the High Court seeking CBI probe in the case.

The court had yesterday sought a status report regarding the Lokayukta police probe and adjourned the case to November 26. Justice M Nagaprsanna of the High Court had also issued notices to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, the Central and State Governments, CBI and Lokayukta police on the petition seeking CBI probe in the MUDA case.
