Mumbai: Actors Huma Qureshi and Hina Khan, along with comedian Kapil Sharma, have been summoned for questioning by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) as part of its investigation into an online betting case.

Huma Qureshi and Hina Khan are being summoned for their alleged involvement in promoting the app, while Kapil Sharma is called in for attending the success party of the Mahadev Book app held in Dubai last September.

In a related development, actor Ranbir Kapoor, also summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the same case, has requested additional time to appear before the agency in person.

The Enforcement Directorate is yet to decide whether to grant the actor a two-week extension.

Many prominent Bollywood actors and singers are currently under scrutiny as part of the ongoing investigation into the Mahadev online betting case.

A previous report by India Today disclosed the attendance of actors and singers at the wedding of Sourabh Chandrakar, the promoter of the Mahadev Book app, in the UAE this February.

The ED, along with police departments from various states, is currently investigating the Mahadev Book app, an online betting platform.

The company, founded by Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, was run from Dubai.

According to the Enforcement Directorate, the company is accused of using the online book betting application to register new users, generate IDs, and engage in money laundering activities through a complex network of undisclosed bank accounts.
