Kalyanpur is set for rapid development with new infrastructure, agri-market, electric sub-station, and employment projects announced by MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury. The initiatives aim to improve agriculture, power supply, and self-employment opportunities while strengthening the region’s economic growth.
Kalyanpur is preparing for a major phase of development as several large-scale projects related to infrastructure, agriculture, and employment are expected to be launched in the coming months. The announcement was made on Saturday by Kalyanpur MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury after he visited multiple project locations along with the Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department.
According to the MLA, several important projects will be inaugurated on the same day by the concerned state minister, marking a significant milestone in the region’s development journey. Among the major initiatives announced is the construction of a modern agri-market project that is expected to strengthen the local agricultural economy.
The new market shed will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 3.11 crore. Officials stated that the government-approved project has already completed the tendering process, paving the way for construction work to begin soon. Local farmers and traders believe the modern market infrastructure will help improve agricultural trade and provide better facilities for storing and selling produce.
In another important initiative aimed at supporting the farming community, a newly constructed Agricultural Supervisor office will also be inaugurated shortly. Residents said the office had been a long-standing demand in the area, as farmers often faced difficulties in accessing agricultural guidance and support services. The new office is expected to improve communication between farmers and agricultural authorities while helping increase productivity in the region.
The development plans also focus on creating employment opportunities for local youth. As part of the new market complex, 18 commercial stalls have already been constructed to encourage self-employment and small businesses. Local residents expressed optimism that the initiative would create fresh economic opportunities for unemployed young people and help strengthen the local economy.
Frequent power cuts, however, continue to remain a serious concern for many residents of Kalyanpur. People in the area have repeatedly complained about irregular electricity supply affecting households, businesses, and daily activities.
Addressing the issue, MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury announced that the foundation stone for a new electric sub-station will also be laid soon. Residents have welcomed the announcement but are now waiting for visible progress on the ground and timely completion of the project.
