India Meteorological Department (IMD) said a fresh western disturbance, starting today is likely to affect Northwest India during the next two days.
The weather agency said under the influence of western disturbance the isolated places of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh are likely to witness heavy rainfall and snowfall. It added that Isolated hailstorms are also likely over Jammu, Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, and West Uttar Pradesh today and tomorrow.
Haryana, Delhi, Punjab and Rajasthan are also to see light to moderate rainfall today and tomorrow, while Uttar Pradesh could see the same tomorrow and the day after. As per IMD, dense to very dense fog conditions were likely to be seen during the morning hours in isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi today. Other regions in India like Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Odisha were also braving dense fog conditions today.
Meanwhile, the Railway Ministry said around 17 Delhi-bound trains are running behind the scheduled time.
