Must Read

Leader of Loktantrik Samajbadi Party Nepal, Jitendra Prasad Sonal, was appointed as the 4th Chief Minister of Madhesh Province of Nepal. In a ceremony held at the Provincial Chief’s Office in Janakpurdham, Provincial Chief Sumitra Subedi Bhandari administered the oath of office and secrecy to Sonal. The new government includes the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal (JSPN), Janamat Party, the CPN (Maoist Centre) and the CPN (Unified Socialist).

Sonal had presented a majority of support before the Province Chief for the formation of a new government with the support of his party, Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal, Janamat Party, CPN (Maoist Centre) and CPN (Unified Socialist). Previously, the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP) Nepal had withdrawn its support from the Madhesh provincial government, forcing the previous CM Satish Kumar Singh of Janmat Party to lose the vote of Confidence.

On Thursday, two newly-appointed ministers of the Madhesh Province government took the oath of office and secrecy at the same ceremony. Leader of the parliamentary party of Janamat Party, Mahesh Prasad Yadav and Chief Whip of Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Socialist) Kanish Patel were administered the oath of office and secrecy as ministers without portfolio.
