Finance Minister Jishnu Dev Varma will table the Budget for the fiscal 2022-23 in Assembly on the first day of the next session- March 17 next.
The Budget session though a 5-day affair , the actual working days , however, would be March 17, March 21 to 24 next.
This session will miss several MLAs- former Speaker Ramendra Debnath who passed away recently after prolonged ailments, Sudip Roy Barman and Asish Saha who resigned from the assembly before switching over to Congress from BJP, Asish Das who was disqualified. It is , however, not yet clear whether IPFT MLA Brishaketu Debbarma will attend the session as his resignation has not been accepted yet.
Several important bills are likely to be introduced in the Budget session including – Tripura repaying and saving bill, Introduction of Salary Allowances, Pensions and other benefits of ministers, speaker, deputy speaker, MLAs etc (7th Amendment Bill), Introduction of National Law University, Tripura Police Amendment bill.
Speaker Ratan Chakraborty on Wednesday informed the media that a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) was held at the assembly premises here on Wednesday.
The proposals of business were placed in the meeting and all the members of treasury bench and opposition unanimously accepted it, he added.
