Gandatwisa sub-division will soon be turned into Model sub-division in the state through overall development including development in tourism sector, enunciated Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma after inaugurating the newly built building of Dumburnagar RD Block Office at Gandatwisa of Dhalai district on Thursday.

The Deputy Chief Minister said, developmental works would accelerate if women involve themselves more in social activities. That is why, it is important to boost women empowerment through involving in SHGs and other projects in the rural areas. Member of Parliament Rebati Tripura, TTAADC EM Rajesh Tripura, MDC Bhumika Nanda Reang, Dhalai DM & Collector Dr. Sidharth Shiv Jaiswal, Managing Director of OTPC, Palatana Project Sannnil C. Namboordiripad, Chief Engiiineer RD Sapan Das were present in the inaugural programme.

Lok Sabha MP from East Tripura Rebati Tripura spoke on various ongoing and upcoming developmental projects in Dhalai district which is recognized as an Aspirational district.

 The MP  informed the gathering that a connectivity project of National Highway Gandatwisa-Kamalpur via Ambassa shall start soon after it gets approved by the Ministry of Transport and National Highways, Government of India. He also expressed his gratitude to the state government that the construction work of Town Hall is steadily progressing and is likely to complete by December this year.

  Financial assistance of 3 lakh rupees was handed over to three local Self-Help Groups during the programme by the guests. The Deputy Chief Minister along with other guests also launched ‘Mobile Medical Unit Van’ sponsored by OTPC, Palatana Project.
