Former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma has been appointed as the Governor of Telengana. In a press communique from the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday night said Jishnu Dev Varma appointed as Governor of Telangana.
President Draupadi Murmu also appointed Governor of other states , apart from Telengana. Jishnu Dev Varma has many things in his kitty – a well read person with amiable personality he happens to be a Royal family member, a successful businessman, a politician, a writer , a poet and a great orator. Apart from being a Deputy Chief Minister he also held the all important Finance portfolio in the first BJP government of Tripura. Jishnu dev Varma happens to be the first person from Tripura to have got the gubornatorial position.
Besides, Dev varma others who would be the new Governor include Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde as Governor of Rajasthan. Apart from them Om Prakash Mathur was appointed as Governor of Sikkim, Santosh Kumar Gangwar was appointed as Governor of Jharkhand, Ramen Deka was appointed as Governor of Chhattisgarh, C H Vijayashankar was appointed as Governor of Meghalaya, C.P. Radhakrishnan was appointed as Governor of Jharkhand – he was having additional charge of Telengana, appointed as Governor of Maharashtra, Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Assam, appointed as Governor of Punjab and has also been appointed as Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh, Lakshman Prasad Acharya, Governor of Sikkim, appointed as Governor of Assam and has also been given additional charge of the Governor of Manipur.
The President of India has also accepted the resignation of Banwarilal Purohit as Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Union Territory of Chandigarh.
The above appointments will take effect from the dates they will assume charge of their respective offices.
