Indian Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar will visit Iran on Wednesday to attend official ceremony to pay condolences on the demise of President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Dr. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and other Iranian officials in a helicopter crash.

External Affairs Minister visited Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in New Delhi on 21 May 2024 to convey Indias condolences on the tragic loss. Iran is holding a mass funeral for Raisi and other officials who died in the helicopter crash.
Raisis followers took to the streets of Tehran to pay homage to him and other deceased persons.
Ayatollah Khamenei performed the prayers in a ceremony at the University of Tehran on Wednesday morning before a funeral procession in the capital city, reported IRNA news agency.
The Government of India declared one-day national mourning on May 21 as a mark of respect to Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi.
