In IPL Cricket, Punjab Kings stormed into the final of the tournament, defeating Mumbai Indians by 5 wickets in a Qualifier 2 match at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad tonight. Chasing a victory target of 204 runs set by Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings made 207 for five with one over to spare. For Punjab Kings, skipper Shreyas Iyer was the top scorer with an unbeaten 87 runs. Nehal Wadhera also contributed 48 runs. For the Mumbai Indians, Ashwani Kumar scalped two wickets.
 
Earlier, Punjab Kings won the toss and elected to bowl first. Putting in the bat, Mumbai Indians posted 203 for six in the stipulated 20 overs. For the Mumbai Indians, Tilak Verma and Suryakumar Yadav were the top scorers with 44 runs each. For Punjab Kings, Azmatullah Omarzai took 2 wickets. Shreyas Iyer was adjudged Player of the Match. The match was delayed due to rain.
 
With this victory, the Punjab Kings will be looking to win their maiden title in the competition’s history when they meet Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the final at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, on Tuesday.
