In Arunachal Pradesh, Itanagar Capital Police and Rajiv Gandhi University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the establishment of a centre titled “Ane’s Home – A Healing Centre for Trauma Victims” on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti today.
The centre, Ane’s Home, has been created to provide refuge, protection, and justice to victims of sexual abuse, domestic violence, and other traumatic incidents. Key facilities at Ane’s Home include a Library/Auditorium, a Fitness Centre, a Child Safe Room, a Legal Aid Clinic, a Counseling Centre for Trauma Victims, a Gym, and a Cafeteria.
Rajiv Gandhi University will play a vital role in this initiative, offering its expertise and support. Volunteers from the Departments of Social Work, Psychology, National Security Studies, and Law will provide essential assistance at the Counseling Centre, particularly in aiding trauma victims.
