At least one person was killed and more than a dozen others were wounded in the capital, Sana’a, according to Yemen’s Houthi rebels, after U.S. airstrikes targeted multiple sites across the country earlier this morning.
The American strikes have now entered their 10th day with no sign of stopping. The campaign, led by U.S. President Donald Trump, aims to weaken the rebel group, which has threatened maritime trade and Israel, while also pressuring Iran.
So far, the U.S. has not provided specific details about the targets being struck. However, Trump’s national security adviser, Mike Waltz, claimed that the attacks have taken out key Houthi leaders, including their top missile specialist, but the Houthis have not confirmed this yet.
The airstrike campaign, which initially killed at least 53 people when it began on March 15, was launched after the Houthis threatened to resume attacks on Israeli ships in response to Israel blocking aid to the Gaza Strip.
