Israel and Hamas have resumed indirect talks on the second day in Egypt today. According to reports, the first day of resumed talks between Israel and Hamas in Egypt ended on a positive note amid hopes of a potential deal to implement United States President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan to end the war in Gaza. The talks are expected to last a few days. Mr. Trump said Hamas was making important concessions during negotiations.
The UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has called for the immediate and unconditional release of all the remaining Israeli hostages held captive by Hamas in Gaza. In a social media post, he said that a permanent ceasefire and a credible political process are essential to prevent further bloodshed & pave the way for peace.
