ISA to hold 7th Asia-Pacific regional meet in Colombo to boost solar deployment

Must Read

The International Solar Alliance (ISA) will convene its Seventh Regional Committee Meeting (RCM) for the Asia and Pacific region in Colombo from tomorrow. The event will bring together government officials, private sector leaders, technical institutions, and regional organisations to accelerate solar deployment in the region.

The three-day meeting will focus on developing investment-ready solar solutions, promoting cross-border solar interconnections, and scaling up emerging technologies such as green hydrogen, energy storage, and e-mobility. A key highlight will be the signing of Country Partnership Frameworks and collaborative agreements with international partners.

The RCM will align regional efforts with ISA’s four core pillars: catalytic finance, digitisation through global capability centres, regional and country-level platforms, and solar technology and policy innovation.

Participants will also explore operationalising the Small Island Developing States (SIDS) Solar Platform, expanding STAR Centres to build institutional capacity, and leveraging digital learning platforms to bridge regional skill gaps.

The meeting builds on the ISA-ADB joint project on ecosystem readiness for green hydrogen, with resources launched at the Asia Clean Energy Forum 2025 feeding into policy and technology roadmaps to be discussed in Colombo.

The International Solar Alliance, co-founded by India and France in 2015, is headquartered in Gurugram, India, and India continues to play a leading role in its strategic direction, institutional support, and financial contributions.
