IndiGo announces strong recovery from recent disruptions, processing refunds smoothly and operating over 1,650 flights today. With improved On-Time Performance and stabilised operations, the airline expects full normalcy before December 10, reassuring passengers with proactive updates and enhanced customer support.

IndiGo, India’s largest airline by market share, announced on Sunday that it is witnessing a strong and steady recovery across its network after days of widespread operational disruptions. The airline said it is processing customer refunds at full speed and is set to operate more than 1,650 flights today, marking a substantial improvement from the roughly 1,500 flights operated on Saturday.

This surge in operations is part of IndiGo’s multi-layered effort to restore normalcy after recent large-scale disruptions that caused flight cancellations, delays, and inconvenience for thousands of passengers across the country. In a fresh statement, the airline confirmed that stabilisation measures implemented over the past 48 hours have begun delivering visible results.

“Following the recent operational disruptions, IndiGo confirms that we are establishing further significant and sustained improvements across our network,” the airline said, noting that teams have been working round-the-clock to support customers and rebuild operational reliability.

On-Time Performance Sees Sharp Jump

One of the most notable indicators of recovery is the improvement in on-time performance (OTP). IndiGo reported that its OTP has risen sharply to 75 percent today, a dramatic turnaround from the near 30 percent recorded just a day earlier.
This improvement is expected to restore passenger confidence, especially among those travelling during the busy winter season.

IndiGo said that one of the key recovery strategies has been the early identification and cancellation of flights when necessary. According to the airline, such proactive cancellations allow passengers to be notified well in advance, reducing last-minute chaos and airport congestion.

Refunds and Baggage Processes Running at Full Capacity

The airline further stated that it is processing refunds efficiently for both direct customers and those who booked tickets through travel agents. IndiGo said its customer support teams are working tirelessly to clear pending refund requests and address baggage-related concerns that arose during the disruption period.

For faster resolution, customers have been encouraged to use the dedicated refund assistance link available on the airline’s website or reach out to the support team for personalised help.

Network Stabilisation Expected Before December 10

In a significant update, IndiGo expressed confidence that its network will stabilise before December 10, advancing the previously estimated timeline of December 10–15. This signals a quicker-than-expected recovery driven by intensive operational adjustments, staff mobilisation, and coordination with airports and regulatory authorities.

The airline emphasised that while operations are normalising, minor schedule changes may still occur as crews and aircraft are realigned. IndiGo urged passengers to verify the latest flight status on its website before proceeding to the airport.

Acknowledgement of Passenger Patience and Staff Efforts

IndiGo once again apologised for the inconvenience caused to passengers over the past few days. The airline acknowledged the disruption’s impact on travel plans and extended thanks to customers for their understanding during the challenging phase.

“We are grateful for the patience, trust and understanding shown by our customers and the tireless efforts of our employees and partners. We continue to work closely with all authorities and stakeholders to ensure a swift return to full normalcy,” an IndiGo spokesperson said.

The airline highlighted that coordination with various authorities, airports, and operational partners has played a crucial role in fast-tracking the recovery process. IndiGo also assured that maintaining customer safety and service quality remains its highest priority as it works to stabilise its vast domestic and international network.

Passengers Urged to Stay Updated

With holiday travel demand rising, the airline strongly advised passengers to stay updated through its official website and app for the latest information on flights, especially in cases of schedule changes or revised departure times.

Despite the recent challenges, the airline said it remains committed to delivering a seamless travel experience and strengthening its operational backbone to prevent similar disruptions in the future.
