India made a winning start on day one of the World Boxing Cup finals at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida, with all four boxers advancing to the semis after commanding victory in their quarterfinal bouts.
 
In the women’s 48kg and 58kg categories, both Minakshi and Preeti secured unanimous wins against Kazakhstan’s Bolat Akbota and Uzbekistan’s Uktamova Nigina respectively.
 
Indian men also started off with victories: in mens 80kg and 90+ categories, Ankush and Narender reached the semi-final with wins against Japan’s Wakaya Go and Ukraine’s Mamasoliev Khalimjon respectively.
