In Football Indian Women’s League, Gokulam Kerala thrashed defending champions Odisha FC 3-1 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Odisha yesterday.
Fazila Ikwaput scored two against Odisha, while Juggernauts’ striker Pyari Xaxa scored an own goal. Substitute Neha scored for the host. Gokulam Kerala is currently placed second on the table with 20 points from eight matches, just one behind East Bengal. Odisha, on the other hand, is third, with 11 points from eight outings.
While in another match, East Bengal FC earned a solid 2-0 win over Kickstart FC Karnataka at the Bangalore football stadium in Karnataka last evening. Ashalata Devi began the scoring in the first half before Sulanjana Raul doubled the lead to hand East Bengal the win. With this victory, East Bengal FC maintain the status quo at the top of the table, with 21 points from eight matches. Kickstart FC Karnataka remains second from bottom with six points from eight games.
Today, Sreebhumi Football Club will be up against Sethu Madurai FC at the Bibhutibhushan stadium in Kolkata. The Match will begin at 3:00 PM.
