In the Indian Super League (ISL) Football, NorthEast United FC clinched a commanding 2-0 victory over Jamshedpur FC at the JRD Tata Sports Complex last night.

Star forward Alaaeddine Ajaraie was the hero for NorthEast, scoring both goals and etching his name in ISL history with a record-breaking brace.

Ajaraie’s first strike came early, as he fired home in the sixth minute-his 19th goal of the season-setting a new single-season scoring record, surpassing the joint record of 18 goals held by Ferran Corominas and Bartholomew Ogbeche.

While, the second goal came after Jamshedpur’s Nikhil Barla fouled Thoi in the penalty area, gifting NorthEast a spot-kick in the 79th minute.

Jamshedpur goalkeeper Albino made a brilliant save from Ajaraie’s initial attempt, but the striker pounced on the rebound to seal the win.

The victory marked NorthEast United’s first-ever away win against Jamshedpur FC in ISL history.

The triumph also boosted Juan Pedro Benali’s men to fourth place on the table, with 32 points from 21 matches, keeping their playoff hopes alive.

In today’s fixture, Odisha FC will host Hyderabad FC at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. Odisha currently sits seventh in the standings, while Hyderabad occupies 12th place.
