Indian Grandmaster Praggnanandhaa takes joint lead After Win over Firouzja

In chess, Indian Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa scored a victory over French  Alireza Firouzja in the seventh round of the Sinquefield Cup, which is a part of the Grand Chess Tour in the United States. With this win, he has claimed the joint lead in the tournament. This marked Praggnanandhaa’s second win, following a series of draws, and took his tally to 4.5 points, putting him on par with American Grandmaster Fabiano Caruana at the top of the leaderboard. On the same day, world champion D Gukesh suffered a setback after being outplayed by American Wesley So, who now shares third place with Levon Aronian, both on four points.
