Indian community in Colombo celebrates Vijaya Dashami with devotion

The festival of Vijaya Dashami or Dussehra is being celebrated at Colombo with religious devotion. The Indian Cultural Association in Colombo in collaboration with Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre have made arrangements for the celebrations at Ganesh Temple Auditorium in Colombo. The occasion which marks the culmination of Navratri and Durga Puja, had devotees joining in big numbers. Devotees offered obeisance and joined the morning puja and aarti on the occasion. The Indian community commenced the festivities of Navratri on Saturday with a Dandiya night, followed by Puja held on every night of the Navratri. Vijaya Dashami is celebrated across the world to remember Lord Ram’s victory over Ravana, marking the triumph of good over evil.
