The Indian Army successfully concluded the five-day Agniveer Recruitment Rally 2026 at the Dasarath Deb State Sports Complex in Badharghat, Agartala, on October 17. The recruitment drive, conducted from October 13 to 17, witnessed participation from 1,203 shortlisted candidates from Tripura following the Common Entrance Examination (CEE).
The rally was organised by the Army Recruiting Office (ARO), Silchar, under the aegis of Headquarters Recruiting Zone (North East States), Shillong, in close coordination with the local Army Formation of the Spear Corps and the Tripura civil administration.
According to the recruitment organisers, this year’s rally recorded significant participation from aspiring candidates across the state. The enthusiasm demonstrated by the young applicants is expected to contribute to a selection rate more than double that of the previous year, potentially increasing the total intake of Agniveers from Tripura.
Throughout the five-day recruitment process, shortlisted candidates underwent multiple stages of evaluation designed to assess their physical fitness, operational capabilities and medical readiness. These assessments formed an essential part of the selection process for candidates aspiring to join the Indian Army under the Agnipath recruitment scheme.
The recruitment rally provided an opportunity for eligible young people from Tripura to pursue a career in military service. The participation of 1,203 shortlisted aspirants reflected the interest among the state’s youth in joining the armed forces.
The successful completion of the recruitment drive was supported by close coordination between the Army and the state administration. Officials highlighted the importance of military-civil cooperation in managing a large-scale recruitment event involving candidates from different parts of Tripura.
The Tripura civil administration, state police and management of the Dasarath Deb State Sports Complex provided logistical assistance throughout the rally. Arrangements included dedicated holding zones for candidates, safe drinking water facilities, emergency medical stations and crowd management measures.
These facilities helped ensure an organised environment for candidates during the different stages of the recruitment process. Coordination among the participating agencies also supported the smooth movement and management of aspirants at the venue.
The Army Recruiting Office, Silchar, and the associated military authorities worked alongside local officials to conduct the rally in accordance with the planned schedule. The involvement of the civil administration and police was an important component of the arrangements required for the five-day event.
