At Paralympic Games in Paris, India clinched three medals today including a Gold and two bronze.

Avani Lekhara clinched gold in the women’s 10m air rifle (SH1) event with a Games record tally of 249.7,  while Mona Agarwal took the bronze with an aggregate of 228.7. Avani had scripted history at the Tokyo Paralympics in 2020 when she became the first Indian woman to clinch a pair of medals at a single edition of the games. She won the 10m air rifle gold and the 50m rifle three-position bronze in the SH1 category there.

Preethi Pal also won a bronze medal in the Women’s 100-meter sprint T35 final with her personal best timing of 14.21 seconds.

Shooter Manish Narwal has entered into the finals of the Men’s 10m Air Pistol SH1. He finished 5th in the qualification round with an aggregate of 565-12x. Suhas Yathiraj is in the semi-finals after winning his second Group A badminton match against South Korea’s Kyun Hwan Shin in straight games. He is competing in the Men’s Singles SL4 category. Nitesh Kumar thrashed China’s Yang Jianyuan in straight games in his second men’s singles SL3 group A match to qualify for the semifinals in para-badminton competition.
