In Men’s Cricket, India will host South Africa for a two-match Test series starting tomorrow. The opening match will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Shubman Gill led Indian side will look to continue their winning streak against Temba Bavuma’s Proteas, after a clean sweep against West Indies at home. The World Test Championship campaign also continues to gather momentum with India sitting third in the rankings.

After beginning their 2025-27 WTC cycle, India registered a 2-2 draw in England, followed by a 2-0 sweep at home against West Indies. On the other hand, reigning world champions South Africa forced a 1-1 draw in Pakistan, last month.

Team India’s Assistant Coach Ryan ten Doeschate said, this series is a very big step for India in getting to the WTC final next year.

Meanwhile, the first ODI of 3-match series between India A and South Africa A will be played in Rajkot, Gujarat today. All the matches will be played at Niranjan Shah Stadium. Ishan Kishan led India A side is joined by all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, who has been released from India’s squad for the first Test against South Africa, starting tomorrow. Reddy will return to the squad for the second Test post the conclusion of the ‘A’ series, on 19th of November.

Earlier, South Africa A managed to level up the Test series against hosts by 1-1 after they bounced back in the Second Test in Bengaluru with a 5 wicket win. India A had won the first Test by 3 wickets at the same venue.
