Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has said that India has emerged as the third-largest automobile industry in the world. Addressing the Green Revolution -2025 on World Biofuels Day in New Delhi, Mr Gadkari said, presently the size of the US automobile industry is 78 lakh crore rupees, followed by China 49 lakh crore and India by 22 lakh crore rupees. He said, the automobile industry has created four crore 50 lakh jobs till now.
Mr Gadkari highlighted the importance of green hydrogen for India’s future energy landscape. He also mentioned that country’s ethanol blending program has reached 15 percent in 2024 which is a step towards the ethanol 20 target by 2025-2026.
