The Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol today said India is one of the fastest-growing major aviation markets in the world and has become the third-largest domestic aviation market globally.
In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, he said various steps have been initiated to promote the growth of the Civil Aviation Sector in the country, which include developing International Aviation Hubs and setting up Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facilities. The government has also formulated an International Aviation Hub Strategy for the development of aviation hubs.
The Minister said the proposal to extend the RCS-UDAN scheme is under the consideration of the government.
