Indian athletes made a strong start at the Taiwan Open, clinching four gold medals on the opening day of the event. Pooja gave India its first gold by winning the women’s 1500m, clocking 4:11.65 to finish ahead of the field. Abdulla Aboobacker secured India’s second gold in the men’s triple jump, registering a leap of 16.21 meters on his third attempt. The sprint hurdles brought more success, as Jyoti Yarraji won gold in the women’s 100m hurdles with a time of 12.99 seconds. Tejas Shirse completed the tally, taking gold in the men’s 110 meters hurdles with a season-best effort of 13.52 seconds.
