In Badminton, India is assured of a gold medal at the Guwahati Masters 2025 after Sanskar Saraswat and Mithun Manjunath stormed into the men’s singles final with straight-games victories. Sanskar edged Indonesia’s Dendi Triansyah 21-19, 21-19, while Mithun defeated compatriot Tushar Suveer 22-20, 21-8 to set up an all-Indian title clash today.
In women’s singles, rising star Tanvi Sharma will aim to cap a breakthrough campaign with the trophy in the finals today. The World Junior Championship silver medallist stunned third seed Hina Akechi of Japan 21-18, 21-16 to book her place in the championship match, where she will face Tung Ciou-Tong of Chinese Taipei.
India also reached the men’s doubles final. Top seeds Pruthvi Krishnamurthy Roy and Sai Pratheek, Malaysia’s Kang Khai Xing and Aaron Tai are in the finals today.
The 2025 Guwahati Masters, the biggest international badminton event in Northeast India, is part of the BWF World Tour Super 100 circuit.
