Income Tax department (NER) on Monday as part of its outreach programme as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mohotsav felicitated farmers, scientists and others who made significant contributions for development of agriculture, horticulture, Fisheries, animal resources and allied sectors.
In the programme Syamal Dutta, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, Agartala, briefed about the IT department’s contribution in nation making and also details about the tax collections. He said in Tripura during the last financial year about Rs 400 crore had been collected as tax which would help develop the state in turn. Datta also gave ideas relating to the new laws related to the IT returns and how it would ease the procedures for the tax payers.
