IMD Issues Red Alert for Heavy Rain in Saurashtra and Kutch Today

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red colour warning for heavy rainfall at isolated places over Saurashtra and Kutch today. The weather department has also issued an orange color warning for heavy rainfall today over Gujarat, Konkan, Goa and Madhya Maharashtra. Parts of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are also expected to receive light to moderate rainfall in the coming 2 to 3 days. The weather department further predicted thunderstorms and lightning conditions in parts of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Telangana, West Bengal and Sikkim during the next 4 to 5 days.
