IMD Issues Red Alert for Extremely Heavy Rain in Gujarat; Heavy Showers Forecast Across Several States

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red colour warning for extremely heavy rainfall over the Gujarat region today. The IMD said that heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy rainfall is expected over Saurashtra and Kutch today. It also forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Maharashtra and the North-Eastern parts of the country for the next two to three days. Heavy rainfall is also likely over Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Konkan and Goa till the 22nd of this month.
 
 
 
 
The weather department said that thunderstorms along with lightning and gusty winds are very likely at isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Telangana, West Bengal and Sikkim for the next three days.
